About the RomaniNet course

RomaniNet is a free multimedia Romani language course created by the EU Socrates/Lingua project and restored here for the browser. Ten units follow Roza and Arun from Craiova to Lisbon and London through animated dialogues, vocabulary with native-speaker audio, grammar reference, exercises, games and cultural notes.

The recordings are in Gurbeti Romani, and the course is equally suited to learners of Kalderash — the two Vlax varieties are closely related. Progress is saved in your browser, everything works offline, and no account is needed.

Is the RomaniNet course free?

Yes. The course is free, runs entirely in your browser without an account, and keeps working offline after the first visit.

Where does the course come from?

RomaniNet was developed as an EU Socrates/Lingua project. This restored version replaces the original Flash course so it runs in any modern browser.
